It goes without saying that as a senior leader in your organisation, you are likely inundated with things to get done and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get through them all. Let me assure you however, it is possible to be a highly influential leader who drives transformation in your organisation, even if you don’t have any time.

In this episode, I’m sharing a strategic mini action plan which will help you to make a big impact in just a few hours a month. That’s right, in just a few hours A MONTH.

I’m revealing my 3-pillar framework that I encourage every senior leader who wants to impactfully drive and influence organisational transformation to embody.  And of course I share some specific, practical steps you can take to bring each of the pillars to life with ease.

I also break the framework down into a simple execution plan to show how you can drive transformation with a small investment of time. I talk you through being a powerful storyteller, thinking like a media centre, and being conversational, to demystify what it really takes for senior executives to build trust with employees and other stakeholders.

You can’t always be out having one on one conversations with your team, so I hope this week’s episode inspires you to be strategic and walk your talk to inspire true engagement with your change initiative.

Listen in now!

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[2:00]: There just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything that you’d like but you can be a highly influential leader that drives transformation in your organisation, even if you don’t have any time.

[3:15]: #1: Visibility

  • Seeing you walking your talk, particularly when it comes to living out your organisational values in all areas in everyday life

  • There is a link between visible leadership and employee engagement, which is a critical factor when it comes to buy in and change adoption.

  • Alignment in action

[5:15]: #2: Being conversational

  • Incorporating a conversational tone in all your communication efforts around the transformation agenda can have a profound impact on the change initiative

  • People create shared experiences through conversations and they are a fast track to building trusting relationships

[7:20]: #3: Be the storyteller

  • Research shows that staff want big picture news about organisational change from senior leadership and more detailed information from their immediate manager

  • Share where the organisation is going, recognise success and motivate action

  • You create meaning for the entire organisation

[9:15]: Once you’ve clarified your strategic narrative, have your team create a suite of briefing materials that you can repurpose in a range of ways, making sure it captures your voice and uses conversational language

[10:15]: Think like a media centre. Make the most of every piece of leadership communication by repurposing

[11:30]: Batch content creation. You can easily make 30 pieces of communication from a single live event which can be distributed slowly

[12:55]: Non-verbal cues help convey tone, including how you dress, smiling, seating arrangements and showing your face in digital media

[14:25]: Think about your personal brand and post about the transformation agenda on social media

[15:55]: Pick a single platform and think about it like it’s micro blogging

[16:15]: Wrap up
